We’ve reached over 6 million fans in the US, so it’s about time that we have more of a presence there. We’re excited to announce that this month we’ve opened our first office in the Stateside! Situated in the heart of Los Angeles, we’re that much closer to where all the movie action and magic happens.
Moviepilot Labs is always looking to get in on the newest and most innovative of anything out there, and we’re proud to say that we’re one of the first to get on the bus with Somewhere!
Somewhere is a service that helps companies to find cultural fits, based on the idea that good cultural fits create successful teams and work environments. This philosophy really struck a chord with us here at Moviepilot Labs, since one of the most important aspects of why we are so passionate about our product is our across-the-board love of film. With culture being equally important to Somewhere, it seemed like a no-brainer to join their beta.
One of the most distinctive features of the Moviepilot Labs HQ are our golden walls. That’s right… golden walls. Before our office was our office, it was a dance studio (Tanzschule Bebop). It still retains a lot of the hallmarks of the previous studio, with generous floorspace, mirrors, and those golden walls. In August 2008, the school was featured in an episode of Tatort called ‘Blinder Glaube’ (Blind Belief). You can see a synopsis of the episode in German here.
For those of you know aren’t familiar with the long-running German TV series Tatort, imagine a cross between the locality and capsule-episode format of CSI and the strong crime-drama storylines of NYPD Blue. It’s one of German-speaking Europe’s longest-running TV shows, having its first season in 1970. It’s a classic to say the least.
Check out some of the episode here.
How ‘bout them walls, hm?
